Security and trust

Your original drawing stays yours

We are careful with your files. This is exactly what Cadigence does, and does not do, with your drawings and your review data.

Your files

The plugin never writes to your DWG

Cadigence is built so your editable drawing never leaves your control.

We never change your DWG

The plugin reads your drawing to create a PDF for review. It never writes anything back to your DWG file, so your original stays exactly as you saved it.

Only a PDF is uploaded

The one thing uploaded to Cadigence is a PDF of the drawing you submit for review, plus the review data such as comments, replies, and approvals. Your editable DWG and your other project files stay on your computer.

Integrity check on every file

Each uploaded PDF is fingerprinted with a SHA-256 hash, so you and your reviewers can tell whether a file has changed since it was submitted.

Access and the record

Private by default, and provable after the fact

Encrypted in transit

Everything travels over HTTPS. Drawings are stored outside the public part of the site and can only be opened by signed-in users who have access to that specific project.

Role-based access

Designers, checkers, approvers, managers, and clients each see only what their role and their project access allow. People outside a project cannot see its drawings or its comments.

Append-only audit log

Every submission, comment, approval, and revision is recorded with a server timestamp. Entries are added, never edited or deleted after the fact, so you can always show who did what, and when.

Locked after approval

Once a drawing is approved, Cadigence locks it. Any later change to an approved drawing is flagged as a violation, so your team can tell at a glance whether a signed-off drawing has been touched.

Accounts

Secure sign-in

  • Sign in with email and password, with role-based access for every team member.
  • Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text.
  • Accounts lock automatically after repeated failed sign-in attempts.
  • Google and Microsoft single sign-on are on the roadmap.
