Using Cadigence

Does Cadigence change my DWG file? No. The plugin only reads your drawing to create a review PDF. It never writes to your DWG, so your original stays exactly as you saved it.

What gets uploaded? Only the PDF of the drawing you submit, plus the review data (comments, replies, approvals). Your editable DWG and other project files stay on your computer.

Who needs the plugin? Only designers. Checkers, approvers, managers, and clients work entirely in the browser.

We already use Bluebeam, where does Cadigence fit? Bluebeam is a general-purpose PDF markup tool; Cadigence is purpose-built to run drawing review and approval. It gives you the markup you need to review, and adds what a PDF markup tool is not built for: multi-level approval with defined authority, comment tracking to resolution, a tamper-evident audit trail, automatic effort tracking, and AutoCAD-native submission where your DWG is never changed. Submitting and reviewing

I can’t submit my drawing. Check that: the drawing is mapped to a task; the task is In progress (not already under review); and no must-resolve comment from a previous round is still open. Resolve any open must-resolve comments first.

I can’t approve a drawing. A level can’t be approved while a must-resolve comment on it is still unaddressed. Close the must-resolve comments, then approve. Advisory comments don’t block approval, they’re closed automatically when you approve.

The designer resubmitted but I can’t approve yet. Each must-resolve comment the designer marked resolved needs you to verify it (or reopen it) before you can approve. Handle those first; advisory comments need no action and close on approval.

Comments and drawings

Where do reviewer comments appear for the designer? Pinned on your drawing inside AutoCAD. Click a comment to zoom to the exact spot.

Why was my change flagged as a violation? A drawing was changed while it was Ready (under review) or already Approved, or time was tracked on an unmapped drawing. To change an approved drawing, ask your manager to reopen the task first. See Violations and drawing integrity.

Does time tracking run during review? No. Effort is tracked only while you’re working on the drawing. It stops when you submit and doesn’t run after approval. See Time tracking.

Accounts and access

How do I get an account? Cadigence is invitation-only. Ask your administrator to invite you by email.

I forgot my password / I’m locked out. Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. After several failed attempts sign-in locks for a couple of minutes, wait, then try again.

Which AutoCAD versions are supported? Full AutoCAD 2021 or later on Windows. AutoCAD LT and the Mac version are not supported. See System requirements.
